I have always believed that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and treated with dignity.
To me, access to life's basic necessities should never be considered a privilege. Every child deserves a safe place to sleep, nutritious food to eat, clothes that bring confidence, an education that opens doors, and the opportunity to dream beyond their circumstances. Every individual deserves the chance not simply to survive, but to flourish.
That conviction is the heartbeat behind The Ilanzi Foundation.
Although the Foundation was inspired by a deeply personal family story, my passion for serving others has been shaped by something even greater: the grace I have experienced throughout my own life.
As a woman of Christian faith, I have witnessed God's love in countless ways, often through ordinary people who chose kindness when they had no obligation to do so. During seasons of uncertainty, I have experienced compassion, encouragement, and generosity that reminded me I was never walking alone. Those moments changed me. They taught me that love is far more than a feeling, it is something we demonstrate.
That is the kind of love I hope The Ilanzi Foundation reflects.
I believe that changing lives doesn't always begin with extraordinary gestures. Sometimes it begins with a warm meal. A school uniform. A wheelchair. A blanket. A pair of shoes. A sanitary kit for a young girl. A safe place to learn. A hand extended in compassion. What may seem small to one person can become the very thing that restores dignity, renews hope, and reminds another that they have not been forgotten.
Professionally, I serve within the Colorado Judicial Branch, where I have learned that leadership is not about position but about service. Whether in my career or through this Foundation, my desire is the same: to lead with integrity, steward every opportunity faithfully, and leave people better than I found them.
The Ilanzi Foundation begins in Zambia, the homeland of my family and the place where our story first took root. Yet, my vision extends far beyond geographical borders. I dream of building a community of compassionate people who believe that lasting change happens when generosity is paired with dignity, hope is matched with action, and service is rooted in genuine love.
If there is one thing I hope people remember about me, it is not that I founded an organization, but that I chose to love people well.
Because I have experienced grace, I believe in extending grace.
Because I have been shown compassion, I believe in living compassion.
And because light has been poured into my own life, I believe I have the responsibility to carry that light into the lives of others.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about The Ilanzi Foundation. Whether you choose to partner with us, volunteer, give, advocate, or simply share our story, thank you for believing that hope can be restored and lives can be transformed.
Together, let us bring light where it is needed most.
To God be all the glory.
